Pre Production
In terms of set for some reason I had my heart set on creating a service station style set. Much like one you'd find off a motorway in France. In the UK our service stations tend to be huge with fast food restaurants and be very busy. In France on the other hand I love their services. After going on many road trips to Paris and Italy on coaches and in cars, I have stopped at many of these. These stations usually consist of parking areas, toilets, vending machines, water fountains and the occasional shop or fuel station. These then ended becoming my final sets as for some reason it was what I had envisioned the entire time!
Production
I started by creating the vending machine. This was not textured and had no snacks inside as I planned on doing this when I build the set. This was later proven to be a big mistake... Throughout the project I continued to add more elements to the project and learnt many new texturing skills. I learnt how to make things glow and emit light and I created 2 water fountains with shiny metallic textures either side of the machine.
About a week and a half until the deadline I faced some serious technical difficulties. All of my Maya work became corrupted and would not display any textures. I also could not edit the objects, reload the textures or replace with new ones. This meant I could not continue with the production of the project. Each render, as seen on the left, came out very wrong... all the textures other than the inside to the machine and the eyes of the Ninja Turtle showed up. The shots were super over exposed and end up looking ghostly and somewhat scary!
